Customers in Europe can already place preorders for an all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC 250 and its AWD variant, the 300 4Matic. The former starts from €64,736, which is roughly €6,500 less expensive than the GLC 400 currently on sale.
Both new specs sacrifice a little power and range to get where they are, but arguably not much. The GLC 250 produces 354 PS (349 hp / 260 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds. It attains the same top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph) as the other variants.
In turn, the dual-motor GLC 300 4Matic sends 421 PS (415 hp / 310 kW) to all four wheels and completes the standard sprint exercise in 4.7 seconds.
Both affordable GLC SUVs come equipped with the same 85-kWh battery, which yields up to 650 kilometers (404 miles) of range depending on other parameters. Charging from 10 to 80 percent only takes 22 minutes from a 320kW source.
