Bentley waves the W12 goodbye with a Batur special edition

The Bentley Batur debuted as a coupe last summer and has now gained a soft-top roadster variant. Both vehicles are the British automaker’s way of saying farewell to its six-liter W12 engine. The coupe will get a production run limited to 18 units, and the roadster will be capped at 16.

The roof-folding mechanism resides where the trunk area used to be. It is covered with a special aerodynamic cowling designed to deflect wind from the passengers inside the cabin. The top can be raised or dropped automatically in 19 seconds when moving under 50 km/h (31 mph).

Power for the exclusive supercar comes from the abovementioned W12 dialed up to 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is of an eight-speed dual-clutch kind. A titanium-alloy performance exhaust system is available as a premium option.
