Tesla facelifts the Roadster ahead of production start next year

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced the mass production of the company’s long-anticipated Roadster model in 2025, but said it would need a stylistic brush-up first.

The automaker is currently working on updating the Roadster, which debuted in concept car from nearly seven years ago. The final result is scheduled for reveal in late 2024.

Right now, the Tesla official website quotes the same specs and performance numbers as the car had when it premiered. It describes the Roadster as a three-motor, AWD supercar developing up to 10,000 Newton-meters (7,376 pound-feet) of torque.

Sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph) allegedly takes 1.9 seconds, the top speed lies in the 400 km/h (250 mph) area, and the battery can deliver up to 1,000 km (621 miles) of range. Of course, these specifications may still be updated at a later date.
