Porsche Cayenne PHEV performs on par with Taycan at moose test

The YouTube team of km77.com has posted a video report from its latest obstacle evasion test featuring the Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo E-Hybrid. The German marque’s heaviest and most powerful SUV on sale has performed surprisingly well, finishing the test about as well as the all-electric Taycan did.

In its Turbo E-Hybrid guise, the Cayenne weighs a cool 2.7 metric tons, or just a touch under 6,000 pounds. The car picked for the test wore 22-inch, staggered-width tires for the run. Per Porsche, this modification can deliver up to 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) to the wheels and reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 3.6 seconds.

In the moose test, the Cayenne was able to pass the obstacle course at 78 km/h (48.5 mph), proving its sporty heritage.

The SUV then ran a slalom test, completing it in 22.5 seconds. In the overall standing, it performed on par with the Smart #1, falling slightly behind the Tesla Model S Plaid (21.8 s) and coming ahead of the BMW iX2 xDrive30 (22.8 s). The Porsche Taycan completed the slalom run a full second faster than its crossover-shaped cousin.
