Hennessey reckons it can squeeze 1,217 PS out of new ‘Vette ZR1

Chevrolet has only recently unveiled the extreme Corvette ZR1, but the tuners over at Hennessey are already looking into ways to boost the American supercar beyond its already-impressive spec.

In case you missed it, the new ZR1 packs a whopping 1,080 PS (1,064 hp / 793 kW) right out of the factory. It can also hit a manufacturer-rated top speed of 346 km/h (215 mph), something that elevates it far above most American sports cars of today. You’d think it’s cool enough as it is, but Hennessey Performance CEO John Hennessey believes he can do more with the model.

Specifically, he said that achieving 1,217 PS (1,200 hp / 895 kW) with a bit of tuning sounded simple enough. He did not mention any specific mods for the twin-turbocharged V8, but that’s really expected, because the car has yet to go into production in early 2025. He did say that “it’s going to be an amazing car”, though, so we are looking forward to seeing it when it’s done.
