Suzuki bringing versatile mobile platforms to CES-2025

For the first time on record, Suzuki will participate in the annual Consumer Electronics Show opening its doors in Las Vegas on January 7. The Japanese automaker has some innovations to show us in the autonomous transport industry.

One of them is called Glydways. It is being presented as a means of mass transportation designed to run in dedicated lanes and transport large numbers of passengers.

Another one is called Applied EV. It is a unitized self-driving vehicle envisioned with commercial applications in mind. It is larger than the Glydways and primarily designed to carry around cargo at logistic terminals. It can also function as a delivery van if you put a cabin on top of the chassis. Suzuki says it is already close to mass production.

And then there is the Versatile micro e-Mobility Platform, evolved from Suzuki’s own compact electric wheelchair concept unveiled a while ago. The company claims the same platform can be used for mounting all kinds of useful appliances on top, from delivery bots to territory cleaners. Third-party vendors and aftermarket specialists will be able to come up with custom upgrades for this platform, endowing it with all kinds of functionality.
