Shoddy Lambo Diablo impersonator can be yours for nearly $20k

Even half a century later, the Pontiac Fiero continues to be popular – albeit mainly as a base for numerous Ferrari replicas. An enthusiast from Kansas decided to try and spice things up by turning the retro muscle into a Lamborghini lookalike.

To make the red car look like the Diablo, he resprayed it into a vivid pearlescent orange, installed scissor doors and replaced most of the bodywork. It’s a real shame that the result doesn’t come even close to the Diablo, whether in terms of the proportions of the individual shapes and outlines. If you asked us, we’d say it’s stuck somewhere in between and gives off a “cheap plastic toy” vibe.

Modifications inside include a digital rearview mirror, a Momo steering wheel, black leather on the dash and a relatively modern head unit. As for the V6 under the hood, it benefits from a supercharger and a sports exhaust system. The listing doesn’t mention the output; the original had around 140 horsepower (103 kilowatts).

It’s not a new car, either, with 127,000 km (79,000 miles) under its belt. The listing originally asked for $20,000 but the price has since been adjusted to $18,500. We can certainly see it going further down, unless someone out there decides it’s a good enough replica.
