Porsche resumes ICE car R&D

Porsche has now fully admitted making a mistake when it decided to go all-electric, the media in Germany report. According to these reports, the second-gen Macan is selling very poorly, while the Taycan sales started strong but trailed off last year.

In the wake of the news, the company has officially announced a return to cars with internal combustion engines (ICE). It won’t be an easy reversal, though: Porsche estimates the necessary investment at a minimum of €800,000,000.

This has prompted talks about impending leadership changes at Porsche. While still not official, the local media cire reports that Chief Marketing Director Detlev von Platen and Investment Board Manager Lutz Meschke will both be relieved of their offices soon.

Furthermore, the career of the company’s CEO, Oliver Blume, is also hanging in the air. Unofficial reports say that the current Skoda CEO, Klaus Zellmer, may replace him in his office soon enough.
