Changan CS75 Plus gets a 2.0T top spec in China

Changan has expanded its CS75 Plus domestic lineup with a new flagship spec named Ultra, which packs a larger and more powerful engine. It is set to go on sale before the end of the year, CarNewsChina reports.

The current, fourth generation of the Changan CS75 Plus (see video) features a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 192 PS (189 hp / 141 kW) and 310 Nm (229 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic. It went on sale this September and cost from 121,900 to 129,900 Yuan depending on the trim.

The new Ultra spec commands a 2.0-liter turbo mill boosted to 233 PS (230 hp / 171 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. It manages to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds – down from the standard version’s 7.9 seconds.

You will recognize this version by its quad tailpipes visibly sticking out from a new rear bumper, as well as 20-inch wheels. The standard Changan CS75 Plus model has its exhaust tips hidden and rides on 19-inch wheels. Other than that, though, the Ultra looks and feels mostly the same. Among other things, it comes with a trio of dash displays, just like the other variants.
