Alpine talks about A390 features

The French sports car maker has just reported successfully concluding the tests of its first all-electric SUV – the A390 – at its technology HQ in Auvergne, France.

It is now official that the electric crossover will be coming to the market with three motors taking advantage of Alpine’s Active Torque Vectoring, as well as five drive presets. One of them, Track Mode, has been updated to deliver unprecedented stability on the track. To help the ESP, the car uses custom 20- and 21-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport EV and ES tires also designed specifically for the A390.

For a more immersive experience, the company has designed a special drivetrain sound profile called the Alpine Drive Sound. It sources two sound signatures from the A110, but the result doesn’t sound like an internal combustion engine. We are told that one of the sounds is more bass-heavy than the other, but both can be made louder or quieter (or switched off altogether).

The A390 is 4,615 mm (180.3 inches) long, 1,532 mm (59.9 inches) wide and 1,885 mm (73.6 inches) tall. It is slated to debut on May 27, 2025.
