Aston Martin Vanquish S spied testing with more tailpipes than it needs

On June 2, 2026, Aston Martin hinted at the possibility of new cars joining its sports-themed S lineup (see video). Rumors have since claimed that a Vanquish S was coming soon, and it looks like the grant tourer has finally begun its pre-production tests.

Perhaps the most intriguing part of the car is its rear end, which flaunts not four, not six, but eight exhaust pipes. Four are integrated in the rear diffuser, another two hide behind a honeycomb mesh, and two more can be discerned in the lower middle part of the diffuser.

Then again, the sticker saying “Emissions Test Vehicle” clearly means that the automaker is busy testing different exhaust system designs to figure out which one works best. Once the optimal layout is found, we expect the number of tailpipes to shrink to the usual two or four.

For the engine, the Vanquish S will probably use the same 5.2-liter V12 as its non-S counterpart, just tuned to a higher performance level. The current powertrain outputs 835 PS (824 hp / 614 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque, so it’s going to be tricky to boost further.

Rumors claim the Vanquish S will start above £430,000 (€500,000).
