BMW unveils the new M2 Racing

The BMW M2 Racing provides an entry-level race car experience for drivers with at least €98,000 on their account.

The car comes powered by a 2.0-liter B48 turbo-four engine tuned to deliver 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque to the rear wheels. The transmission is ZF seven-speed automatic, and the top speed is 270 km/h (167 mph).

Features listed include KW Motorsport suspension parts, 18-inch forged wheels, quick-release hood and trunk covers, and an FIA-homologated roll cage. The interior is outfitted with a driver’s seat from Sabelt, an AC and a fire extinguisher. Drivers enjoy access to advanced track driving presets, and with a curb weight of just 1,498 kilos (a touch above 3,300 pounds), the M2 Racing should be a hoot to drive around the track.

Available options include a passenger’s seat, integrated air jacks, telemetry hardware and so on.

Private racing teams will be able to order their M2 Racing in time for the next year season. The car has a formal clearance for a wide variety of German and international events, including endurance races.
