Spied: Particularly angry Denza Z9 GT hits the North Loop

The badass Denza Z9 GT Xtreme EV has been spotted testing in camo before, but the latest portion of shots from Autoevolution depicts the 2,000-horsepower Shooting Brake in its full, brazen glory.

The road-legal ultra-performance wagon known as the Denza Z9 GT is already available in Europe, packing 1,156 PS (1,140 hp / 850 kW) from its three electric motors and reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds. We expect the Xtreme version to have around two thousand hp (1,500 kW) and manage the sprint in less than two seconds. That being said, the official specifications remain to be revealed.

Returning to the prototype in the gallery above, it boasts wider-than-usual fenders, a rather big front splitter, side sill extensions and a racing-style rear wing. A closer look also reveals a roll cage in the cabin.

It’s currently unknown whether BYD plans to mass-produce the Denza Z9 GT Xtreme and whether it will be street-legal. Still, the Chinese company already has some experience building high-end supercars. Its Yangwang U9 Xtreme is fully street-legal despite packing a similarly outlandish body kit and 3,017 PS (2,977 hp / 2,220 kW) from four e-motors.
