Unlike the previous four models produced by the Chinese car brand Jetta for the domestic market, the VS8 SUV bears no semblance to the FAW-Volkswagen vehicles despite being based on the same MQB platform.
Instead, the VS8 sports its own, unique appearance that can be considered the new design language of the Jetta brand. It is already available for ordering with full prices expected to land between 99,000 and 114,000 CNY.
Compared to its predecessors, the SUV features a unique front fascia complete with an all-new radiator grille, headlights and bumper trim. It also sports original c-pillars and Y-shaped taillights. The interior houses a 10.25-inch dashboard and a floating 14.6-inch display in the middle.
It’s also the biggest vehicle in the lineup, beating the VS7 by several millimeters. It is 4,629 mm long, 1,851 mm wide and 1,624 mm tall with 2,731 mm of wheelbase (same as the VS7).
Like the VS7, the VS8 uses a 1.4-liter turbo engine to drive the wheels with 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) via a six-speed automatic transmission. It benefits from multilink rear suspension and has front-wheel drive with no AWD option on the list.
