2025 Kia Sportage launched in China

Kia previewed its updated Sportage CUV last fall (see video), but the Chinese market version only debuted this week.

While the international Sportage model ended up with a revised front fascia and new headlights, its Chinese counterpart stayed largely the same on the outside. Only some minor trim bits were updated. Interior trims were also slightly refreshed and the default ADAS package was improved, Kia says.

Like before, the China-made Kia Sportage ships with a choice from three powertrains. There is a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW), a larger 2.0-liter unit with 236 PS (233 hp / 174 kW) and a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine hybridized for 200 PS total.
