Buyers looking for a new Lotus Emeya or Eletre should now have an easier time distinguishing between versions.
Instead of a confusing alphabetical suffix, the EVs now have a horsepower rating next to their name. It’s American and rounded to the nearest ten. For example, the models with 603 American hp (612 PS; 450 kW) will be known as the Emeya 600 and Eletre 600. The range-topping Emeya 900 and Eletre 900 produce 905 hp (918 PS; 675 kW).
Don’t drop your guard just yet, though. The letters are now used to denote the trim level, of which there are five: GT, GT SE, Sport, Sport SE, and Sport Carbon. That still sounds simpler than the naming scheme used before.
Lotus says the first cars with these model indexes will ship in the summer. Prices in Europe will start from €108,000 for the Emeya liftback and €100,000 for the Eletre SUV.
