Mazda6 successor rides into Europe on a Chinese chassis

Mazda has officially announced bringing its China-made EZ-6 liftback to Europe before the end of the year.

The car was designed at the Changan-Mazda factory based on the two-year-old Shenlan SL03 hatchback. Aside from a slightly different body style, it received a new interior, but we don’t know yet whether the same goes for the powertrain.

On its domestic market of China, the Mazda EZ-6 is available in two flavors: full electric and serial hybrid. In Europe, it is envisioned as the replacement for the Mazda6.
