Volvo crashes its biggest SUV EV into its smallest one, boasts results

Volvo Cars has staged a crash test demo for the media in Torslanda, Sweden, to prove the point that its electric utility vehicles are every bit as safe as their ICE cousins.

The company let its range-topping EX90 SUV accelerate straight into its smallest and most affordable electric car, the EX30. The experiment was held at its Safety Research HQ, so there was no risk of injury.

After showcasing the aftermath of the crash from various angles, Volvo declared that, in a similar road accident in real life, the occupants of the EX30 would avoid major injuries and would have no trouble getting out of the car on their own.
