Lotus unleashes Emira Limited
Lotus has quite a history in Formula One, and this collection of 60 Emira sports cars pays homage to the British automaker’s five iconic racers. Prices go from €98,107 upwards.
There are five special editions of 12 cars in each, and they will be exclusively available in 12 EU counties. All cars come equipped with AMG engines further modified by Lotus to deliver 360 PS (354 hp / 272 kW) and 430 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque. Accelerating from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 4.5 seconds.
The oldest vehicle being referenced here is the 1963 Lotus Type 25 driven by Jim Clark. The one with the number 5 on a front fender pays homage to the 1977 Lotus Type 78 built for Mario Andretti. The red-and-blue coupe is inspired by the Type 86 racer that followed three years later.
The remaining two cars are inspired by Ayrton Senna’s racers from 1985 and 1987. Both wear the starting number 12 in reference to the legendary driver.
