2027 Nissan Fairlady Z bows in Japan

The refreshed Nissan Z, known on its domestic market as the Fairlady Z, is already obtainable starting from 5,737,600 Japanese Yen, or 36,025 USD.

Nissan teased the facelifted Z more than half a year ago, but hasn’t made it available until now. Compared to the predecessor, the 2027MY version features a redesigned front fascia with an air intake split in two. It also sports rather dark wheels with CNC-machined spoke faces and can be ordered in a new shade called Unryu Green, essentially a metallic dark green.

Based on the feedback on the numerous Nissan Z owners who found its ride too harsh, the automaker has replaced the dampers in the suspension for larger, softer ones designed for a smoother ride. The front brakes also became lighter and the brake calipers now come in a brighter, more noticeable shade of red.

Powering the updated Fairlady Z is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 405 PS (400 hp / 299 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission can be either six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic. In this department, Nissan mentions throttle valve and ignition improvements that should result in a sharper throttle response. No revised sprint times have been published yet.
