Toyota Hilux Champ dons a racing suit
The Toyota Hilux Champ debuted in 2023 as a plain and affordable truck (see video). A year later, Toyota Gazoo Racing reckoned it would make a fine racer in Thailand.
The team took part in the national racing event called Super Pickup, which only admits modified pickup trucks. In accordance with the regulations, the Hilux Champ was retrofitted with sports-grade suspension, an aggressive body kit and a roll cage.
The 2.4-liter diesel engine with 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 343 Nm (253 lb-ft) of torque stayed stock, as did the manual transmission sending the momentum to the rear wheels.
