Young UK-based tuning company Halcyon has announced its electrification plans concerning the vintage Rolls-Royce Corniche. The first prototype debuted months ago (see video), and we now finally have full details, including the pricing and the production quantity.
The company plans to make 60 such “remasters”, dedicating at least 2,000 work-hours to each to ensure that the bodywork, the chassis and the interior are fully restored. Customers are free to decide whether they need a clean, modernized design (like in the gallery here) or something closer to genuine retro. They can also go for a modern infotainment system and other creature comforts, or opt out of them.
There is just one big aspect that isn’t up for customization this time around. The stock 6.75-liter V8 gets thrown out and a custom electric powertrain by Evice Technologies takes its place. It can be set up to deliver up to 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) to the wheels – more than twice the output of the original car.
Batteries also come in two sizes rated for 402 and 483 km (250 and 300 miles) of range. 230-kW fast charging should eliminate range anxiety, and Halcyon goes as far as to claim the whole car manages to weigh not a kilogram more than the original. That’s a bold claim, indeed, and one has to wonder how the weight reduction is achieved.
Prices start from £400,000 for the conversion alone, meaning you are still supposed to supply your own RR Corniche. The first customer deliveries are expected in Q4 2025.
