AC Motorsport Unveils Ferrari 308-Inspired Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo

AC Motorsport has introduced the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo, a new car that draws inspiration from the Ferrari 308 GTB rally car. The vehicle, which debuted in Padova, Italy, is described as a reinterpretation rather than a restomod, built from the ground up to embody the spirit of the original Group 4 competitor.

The Gruppo 4 Tributo features a tubular steel frame with an integrated roll cage, a design distinct from the original 308 chassis. Its composite body panels echo the 308's wedge profile and pop-up headlights. The project commemorates 50 years since Michelotto's Ferrari 308 GTB received its FIA Group 4 homologation, a car known for its second-place finish at the 1982 Tour de Corse.

Powering the car is a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter V8 engine, producing 375 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 268 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox that drives the rear wheels. The vehicle weighs 2,094 pounds without gasoline. Suspension includes adjustable front and rear shocks and stabilizer bars, with four-piston calipers on ventilated discs.

The interior features a three-spoke wheel and a digital gauge cluster, omitting touchscreens. AC Motorsport plans to produce fewer than 50 units worldwide, with pricing expected to start above €450,000 (approximately $505,500).
