BYD offers the Seal 6 EV as a less premium option compared to its other models. This vehicle, known as the Qin L EV in China, is part of BYD's Dynasty line, which influences its styling to differ from the Ocean Aesthetics series.
The Seal 6 EV is positioned as a more affordable choice, yet it aims to maintain a certain level of quality. It features soft-touch materials throughout the interior and includes amenities such as an eight-way power driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker audio system. A full suite of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) is standard across both available variants, including adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic emergency braking.
The infotainment system includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Unlike some other BYD models, the central screen does not rotate. The vehicle also offers Bluetooth and NFC digital key functionality. Cargo capacity is 460 liters in the boot and a 65-liter waterproof frunk.
Performance-wise, the Seal 6 EV is offered in Malaysia with two variants. The Premium variant features a 160 kW motor (218 PS/214 HP) and 330 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds. The base Dynamic variant has a 94 kW motor (129 PS/127 HP) and completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 10.9 seconds. The Seal 6 EV utilizes a rear-wheel-drive layout.
