A 54-year-old Chevrolet K5 Blazer tuned by Ringbrothers for the SEMA show of 2022 is now heading to a Mecum auction in September. It packs 1,200 horsepower and doesn’t have an expected sale value.
Like many high-end restomods, this Blazer only retains a part of its original frame, while everything else from bodywork to suspension to powertrain to interior is new. It is also a cabriolet now, having lost its fixed roof in favor of a simple removable cloth top.
In addition to being quite the looker, it’s also a mighty machine underneath that metal. A 6.8-liter supercharged V8 drives the four wheels with 1,217 PS (1,200 hp / 895 kW) using a Bowler automatic transmission. 18-inch wheels convey the momentum to the ground, while Baer performance brakes ensure adequate deceleration.
Elsewhere, Ringbrothers mentions Fox adaptive suspension, Dana axles at both ends, and a particularly generous ground clearance. The interior looks tastefully retro with seats made from interwoven leather belts, analog gauges, and metal switchgear all around.
The car is officially known as the Bully, and took 8,500 hours to build according to the tuner. The Mecum auction will take place on September 26, 2026.
