The gorgeous Rezvani Beast X hides its C8 Corvette underpinnings under an all-carbon body while sending 1,582 PS (1,560 hp / 1,164 kW) to the wheels and starting from U.S. $500,000 before options.
For perspective, $225,000 gets you a stock Chevy Corvette ZR1X with 1,267 PS (1,250 hp / 932 kW). Of course, it’s largely irrelevant for the would-be buyers, because the Beast X is a completely different animal. Built on the tuning company’s own Rezvani Beast supercar, it apparently uses the same hybrid powertrain as the latest Corvette E-Ray, combining a 6.2-liter transaxle V8 with a single fount-mounted e-motor.
Two high-end turbos and forged internals drive the output of the Beast X to the aforementioned 1,560 American horsepower. The stock eight-speed dual-clutch transmission gets its own share of upgrades to handle up to 1,735 Newton-meters (1,280 pound-feet) of torque. Equipped like this, the coupe hits 96.6 km/h (60 mph) in 1.9 seconds from standstill.
It’s also quite the looker thanks to lightweight carbon-fiber bodywork and aero. The two-piece rear wing in particular looks unique. Rezvani mentions upgrades in the suspension, exhaust and braking departments as well.
Only five units will be made. Customers will be able to personalize their interiors as they see fit.
