Genesis has yet to announce a premiere date for its large and sporty GV90 crossover. In the meantime, the company entered its main parameters into a public patent database in South Korea, revealing most specs ahead of the launch.
Korean Car Blog claims that the production SUV will look and feel close to the Neolun Concept of 2024 (seen at the end of the gallery above). Among other things, it is expected to get rear-hinged “suicide” rear doors, be roughly 5.2 meters (205 inches) long and weigh over three metric tons (6,700 lbs).
As for the powertrain, it is said to use a proprietary 703V power architecture and drive both axles with one electric motor each. The combined output reportedly amounts to 666 PS (657 hp / 490 kW). The actual usable volume of the traction battery is manufacturer-estimated at 115 kilowatt-hours.
Genesis only quotes the driving range at 481 km (299 miles) according to Korea’s own measurement standard, MOTIE. The WLTP range should be a little better than that, but we don’t have the numbers yet.
According to the patent application, the GV90 goes on sale in six-seat and seven-seat variants to choose from, as well as with 22-inch and 24-inch wheels. Just whether it will retain the concept car’s futuristic cabin design with front seats swiveling by 180 degrees to face the rear rows remains to be seen.
