Hongqi unveils H9 Hybrid, teases next-gen HS9

Hongqi’s Auto Shanghai booth had two other interesting vehicles on display this year. One was a LiDAR-equipped hybrid version of the H9 executive saloon, while the other one previewed a brand-new HS9 SUV.

Both vehicles had an ADAS package from Sinan installed, which uses a stereoscopic machine vision system known as “Three Eyes” and runs on a Snapdragon SA8650P chipset. Hongqi claims that the cars correspond to SAE Level 3 on the autonomous driving scale, meaning drivers can briefly let go of the steering wheel in certain cases. Automatic emergency braking works at 90 km/h (55 mph) and below, and drivers can “teach” their cars routes to difficult parking spot so they would drive themselves there automatically.

A 2.0-liter turbo engine supplies the power for both, but the amount remains unspecified. Hongqi also mentioned adaptive air suspension, extra-comfortable seats and UltraHD displays during the reveal.
