Lepas L8 announced with 3 powertrains, worldwide availability

Lepas, Chery’s most recent car sub-brand, has confirmed that its first production SUV – the L8 – will be coming to us in ICE, PHEV and BEV flavors.

The first two versions are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo. The plug-in hybrid offers up to 1,300 km (808 miles) of driving range, and the electric vehicle has a 700-km (435-mile) range rating in China. That’s it for the details thus far.

The company claims that it has already concluded cooperation agreements with 32 partners from a number of countries. It expects to have 1,200 dealerships operating worldwide by 2027. Confusingly, Lepas has yet to announce what specific regions it is targeting, and which countries will be the first to see the cars.
