New Toyota Prius feathers up at Tom’s Racing

Japanese tuning company Tom’s Racing has devised a light aerodynamic kit for the fifth generation of the Prius hybrid. Let’s have a look!

The most immediately noticeable part is a redesigned front bumper complete with a spoiler and reshaped side vents. The designer claims these vents help reduce drag and prolong battery life.

A glance from the side reveals sporty-looking skirts and a fairly understated rear diffuser. Per Tom’s Racing, these also serve a practical purpose by increasing downforce and helping with stability at higher accelerations.

All components can be purchased separately or as a single package priced at 300,000 Yen, which converts to U.S. $1,900. Add 15% to your total if you would like the parts painted.
