BMW’s new design concept isn’t coming until 2030 or so

According to BMW Design Director Adrian van Hooydonk, the recent shuffling of the company’s car design division will drastically change how BMW cars look and feel on the road.

Speaking in an interview, van Hooydonk promised the brand fans that next-generation BMWs would no longer feel like “scale replicas of one another.” He also said that the company was working on making its next lineup cleaner and more laconic by getting rid of the visual clutter and sharp edges plaguing the current generation.

The catch? According to van Hooydonk, these modifications won’t make it to the market until the end of the decade, or at least close to that.
