Abarth rolls out its most powerful car ever, and it's an EV

The all-electric Abarth 600e is the company’s most capable SUV in history and also its first aftermarket vehicle running on batteries. Only 1949 units will be made, referencing the year the company was founded.

Buyers will be choosing from two specs. One is called Turismo and makes 240 (237 hp / 177 kW). The other one is named Scorpionissima and offers 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW). Both max out at 200 kilometers per hour (124 mph) and run out of charge after 334 kilometers (207 miles). The Turismo takes 6.24 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill, and the flagship spec manages the same in 5.85 seconds.

As any other Abarth, the 600e is based on a Fiat car by the same name. The donor isn’t nearly as exciting to drive with 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) at its disposal, though. The tuner also adds a limited-slip differential for optimal torque control along with three drive modes called Turismo, Scorpion Street, and Scorpion Track. The available motor output and ESP settings vary depending on the mode chosen.

The company also points out heavy-duty Alcon brakes, stiffer suspension optimized for fast-paced driving, a sway bar at the rear end, and a widened track compared to the stock Fiat 600e. You can easily recognize the Abarth version on the road thanks to its distinct body kit, a unique rear spoiler and redesigned bumpers. A set of 20-inch alloy wheels rounds out the exterior.

Customers can choose from a whole number of special colors, such as Acid Green, Antidote White, Shock Orange, Venom Black and (this one’s exclusive to the Scorpionissima) Hypnotic Purple. Gloss-black accents, black decals and colorful brake calipers are included in any case.

A peek inside the cabin reveals bucket seats with integrated headrests, an infotainment system with a new UI and ChatGPT support, and a host of driving assist features. The Turismo makes do with fabric upholstery, while the Scorpionissima enjoys Alcantara all around.
