Porsche 911 Carrera S gets refreshed for 2025

Porsche continues overhauling its 911 lineup with a new Carrera S. It’s already available for ordering and starts from €154,800 in Germany.

The 3.0-liter flat-six engine gets a new intercooler and improved turbochargers with some parts sourced from the 911 Turbo. This leaves the peak torque at 530 Nm (391 lb-ft), but adds 30 horsepower to the output, for a new maximum of 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW). An eight-speed DCT sends the momentum to the rear wheels.

Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package, the new Carrera S Coupe goes 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.3 seconds. Its convertible cousin manages the same in 3.5 seconds. That represents a 0.2-second improvement in sprint times for both versions. Top speed goes to 308 km/h (191 mph).

Considerable improvements have been made to the suspension, including shock absorber tweaks all around and revised kinematics at the front end. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and Carrera GTS brake rotors sized 380 mm front and 408 mm rear are already included in the main spec. Those looking to max out track potential may get the optional PASM suspension with a 10mm (0.4-inch) reduction in ride height, as well as carbon-ceramic brakes and rear-wheel steering.

Styling and cabin tweaks are more or less in line with those of the standard 911 Carrera. Unlike that one, the new S version gets special 21-inch wheels and vertical front bumper inserts, as well as some exclusive trim options. Like its “civilian” counterpart, the S Coupe comes without a rear bench seat, but you can order one installed free of charge. In contrast, the convertible version is a four-seater by default.
