Concept Cars
Coachbuilder Italdesign has released the first sketch image showing what it calls the DaVinci Concept. Contrary to what most of us have come to expect, the car that will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week is actually a luxurious grand tourer (GT), rather than a sporty supercar.
The Italdesign DaVinci boasts gull-wing doors and is 4.981 mm (16.34 ft.) long and 2.124 mm (6.97 ft.) wide with 2,900 mm (9.51 ft.) between the axles. Its road clearance amounts to a modest 119 mm (4.7 inches).
According to the company, the car only needs minor finishing touches to enter mass production. Neither the production scope nor the pricing are being discussed so far, though.
Italdesign introduced a carbon-hardtop roadster model called Zerouno Duerta last year. The supercar used the Audi R8 chassis and came equipped with a naturally aspirated engine capable of 610 hp (455 kW). The coachbuilder has only released five copies before moving on.
