Novelties
Media first learned in February this year that a mass-produced version of the KTM X-Bow GTX racer was in the works. Back then, the Austrian automaker only gave a brief announcement, but today, we finally have some details.
The production-ready KTM X-Bow GTX fails to live up to the rumors in terms of horsepower. Powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder, it only makes 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and up to 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. Still, the promised power-to-weight ratio of 1:2 holds true: there is only 1.98 kg of the car for the engine to handle per every horsepower it makes. The transmission is six-speed sequential.
On the outside, the X-Bow GTX wears a carbon-fiber aero kit by Kiska and has video cameras as the substitute for mirrors. Its Airjack system can automatically lift the car whenever it needs servicing, for instance, when you want to change the wheels.
The fuel tank size is 120 liters (31.7 gallons), and the racer features a rapid refueling system for track use.
Prices begin from €230,000.
