Audi A6 saloon gets a whole tuning program from ABT

ABT Sportsline has rolled out a full-scale customization program for the new part-electric Audi A6. Opting for the engine upgrade brings the car closer to the old S6 model, although not exactly on par.

The starting point is a modern A6 eHybrid Quattro S Tronic. Straight from the factory, this car outputs 367 PS (362 hp / 270 kW) from its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and electric motor. Once tuned with the help of an external control unit called the ABT Power, the output rises to 428 PS (422 hp / 315 kW).

For comparison, the old S6 had a 2.9-liter V6 boosted to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW). It also boasted 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, while the new A6 by ABT only manages 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). Still, it’s a solid improvement over the stock figures. We didn’t find any mention of tweaks made to the car’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Quattro AWD, and ABT seemingly neglected to post a 0-100 km/h sprint time.

If you decide to have your A6 sedan tuned, note that the German vendor also has a modest aftermarket aero kit listed for it, made of practical black plastic. Further options include ABT Sport HR21 wheels sized 21 inches in diameter, lowering springs and Audi Sport-style twin tailpipes. The interior makes do with the usual branded floor mats and puddle lamps.

A full package like this will set you back around €15,500 in Germany. The wheel and tire set is the most expensive part by far, coming in at €7,600.
