It’s Official: GMC Yukon gets a diesel version

GMC says it will launch a 3.0-liter diesel spec of its Yukon SUV late this fall. The power and torque of the Duramax series engine are being kept secret so far.

When it presented the 2021 GMC Yukon, the company mentioned that it would emerge in three trim versions. Two of those were gas-powered, and the third one should be joining the range soon with a diesel power source.

The new Tahoe and Suburban models make use of a similar engine rated at 277 hp (207 kW).

The current top spec of the Yukon is the V8 6.2, which produces 420 hp (313 kW) and supports 10-speed Hydra-Matic as the only transmission.
