Ford F-150 Lightning pricing for Canada turns out less attractive

Many were caught by surprise when Ford unveiled its all-electric F-150 Lightning truck and said it would come in at under $40,000 USD. As it turns out now, however, not every market will get the best of the deal.

Canada, for one, will get the XLT trim level starting from $68,000 CAD, which is closer to $54,000 USD. The trim is rather well-featured, but there’s no going around the fact that it costs several grand less in the States.

The Canadian spec ships with the entire Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0 package pre-installed, heated front seats, LED lighting all around, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and an on-board charging system.

Depending on the specification, the F-150 Lightning can produce from 426 to 563 PS (420 – 555 hp; 313 – 414 kW, respectively). The torque is capped at 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) in both cases.
