Dodge promises solid-state BEVs in 2026

The American automaker says it plans to start road-testing its first electric cars with solid-state battery packs in just two years.

The first model to benefit from the groundbreaking battery tech will be Charger Daytona. It currently ships with traditional lithium-ion power cells. A company named Factorial Energy is mentioned as the vendor of the new cells.

According to Dodge, switching to the superior technology will bump the power storage density to 390 watt-hours per kilogram, a drastic improvement over all current battery designs.
