Audi to shut down plant in Brussels

The story of the long-suffering Audi manufacturing complex in Brussels, Belgium seems to have come to an end. With no buyers or investors in sight, it will cease operations on February 28, 2025, sending all 3,000 workers looking for new jobs.

According to Audi executives, the company had conducted negotiations with as many as 20 potential buyers of the plant, but to no avail.

Right now, the automaker is in talks with a commercial estate investor, hoping to recoup at least some of the value by selling the facilities to be repurposed. Still, there is nothing like a finalized agreement yet.
