Modellista debuts a Land Cruiser 250 styling kit

Around half a year ago, Japanese tuning company Modellista unveiled its take on the new Toyota Land Cruiser 250 (see video). It has now brought the kit to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, and it looks more outlandish in person than it did in the previews.

The front end is especially remarkable with its U-shaped light bar spanning the entire width of the bumper. There are protective trims on the headlights, and the whole bumper looks more robust with an added skid plate. Brush guards strung from the hood to the a-pillars should keep tree branches away from the windshield.

The sides are generously trimmed with textured black plastic bits, but Modellista eschews fender flares in this particular look. The rear end continues in the same vein as the front with revamped taillights, a new tailgate and bumper, and an access ladder for the roof rack. Things seem to stay stock in the cabin and under the hood.

At last year’s SEMA, the Japanese company said it wanted to launch its kits in the United States. Just when this Land Cruiser kit may become available remains to be announced, and the contents of the package remain to be confirmed. Modellista says it will need to gather feedback first to see how many customers are interested.
