GAC-Toyota’s new e-SUV pricing revealed for China

The Toyota-GAC joint enterprise in China has opened preorders for bZ3X, an all-electric crossover coming to the market in three flavors. Prices range from 100,000 to 200,000 Yuan, making it fairly attractive.

The bZ3X is sized 4,600 x 1,875 x 1,645 millimeters (179.7 x 73.2 x 64.3 inches) large with 2,765 mm (108 inches) between the axles. At launch, it will only be available with a single electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW).

The battery pack is also rather humble at 50 kWh of capacity and 430 km (267 miles) of range under ideal conditions. Rumor has it larger packs will become available later with 520 and 620 km (323 and 385 miles) of range per the Chinese standard, but this remains to be confirmed.

Like some of its more fashion-conscious rivals, the bZ3X comes with a LED-encrusted front fascia. 112 individual lights allow drivers to play back eight different kinds of animations. As for the interior, the main highlight is an infotainment system that resides on two displays sized 8.8 and 14.6 inches large and supports voice commands. A wireless charging pad is available alongside seven airbags and an 11-channel Yamaha audio system.

Last but not least, the GAC-Toyota bZ3X features a semi-autonomous driving system developed by startup company Momenta. It comprises 11 cameras, 15 sensors of various kinds, and a LiDAR. An Nvidia Orin X chipset handles the processing.

Although you can preorder the electric SUV now, you won’t be getting it any sooner than March 2025, Toyota warns.
