New Nissan Kicks arrives in South America

Nissan has revealed the second generation of its Kicks SUV in Brazil, and it’s markedly different from the latest U.S. variant.

Instead of a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, the new crossover utilizes a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder diesel capable of 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. It also has no CVT on the list of options, instead going with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive.

Inside, things mostly stay the same except for the transmission selector, which is now styled as a button pad instead of traditional lever.

All production for South America will be handled by Brazil.
