Nissan Micra gets its share of updates for 2021

Nissan – or, rather, Renault, which is responsible for the actual development process – is getting its sixth-gen Micra hatchback ready to rumble. But while the new generation is still a fair distance away, the year 2016 model enjoys a mid-life refresh.

The new Micra comes in only five trim levels in Europe now, down from seven in some countries. The Acenta, Tekna and Visia trims stay on the market, and the N-Sport joins them as a regular trim version after debuting as a special edition a year ago. The fifth and final variant is called N-Design.

The NissanConnect package is available in all versions starting from the Acenta. The Tekna introduces blind spot monitoring and a Bose Personal audio system, among other things. Both N-Design and Tekna get bi-color Genki wheels sized 16 inches, and the N-Design sports special details on the sides, inside the bumpers and on the side mirrors that you can specify to be black or chromed.

The N-Sport introduces black accents, 17-inch wheels and an Alcantara-draped interior. Energy Orange color scheme is available at a premium. The model will hit the market with three 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinders: 100 hp / 160 Nm, 100 hp / 144 Nm. and 117 hp / 180 Nm. Transmission choices will include five- and six-speed manual and CVT.
