Roewe Pearl Concept goes after luxury vehicle aesthetic

SAIC Group’s subordinate auto brand Roewe has unveiled the Pearl, an opulent vehicle penned by ex-VW, BMW and Rolls-Royce designer Jozef Kabaň.

Painted in pearlescent white with gold-colored accents, the bodywork is nothing short of striking. There are no b-pillars, so the rear doors are back-hinged. The side windows are fashionably frameless, and the lighting all around follows a consistent design theme.

The interior seats four people with the rear row occupants getting their own pull-out tables and tons of legroom. The steering wheel is not so much “squared” as just plain square, and the infotainment display is as big as you’d expect from a Chinese car in this segment.

It’s a design study at this point, so there is no telling when Roewe might decide to produce anything like it.
