Car Tuning

€75k buys you a genuine Ferrari 360 or this Honda NSX cosplayer

The iconic Honda NSX, a.k.a. Acura NSX in the United States, is sometimes called “poor man’s Ferrari” thanks to its mid-engine layout and overall size and shape. Well, one of the owners took these words to heart and actually went through the pain of building a 360 Modena replica out of his NSX.

The conversion took place 18 years ago. It started with a replacement of most body panels, the side mirrors and the wheels. The tuner went for Work Meister S1 wheels sized 17 inches large at the front and 18 at the rear.

He also retrimmed the interior with quality leather and red Alcantara, resulting in a cabin that certainly gives off some Ferrari vibes even if it largely stays stock. Prancing Horse emblems on the seat backs and OEM titanium side sills only improve the illusion. The steering wheel and the multimedia system are new, and there are carbon-fiber accents on the console and the dashboard.

A peek under the hood reveals Honda’s original 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) sending its torque to the rear wheels through a manual transmission. It seems that a valve exhaust system is the only modification in this department.

The so-called “Ferrari 361” is up for grabs in Switzerland right now for a cool €75,000. Funnily enough, it’s about as much as a genuine 360 Modena costs used these days. Not only that, but a well-preserved first-gen Honda NSX is actually worth more as long as it’s stock.
