Shoddily built BMW 335i pickup can be yours for cheap

A BMW 335i sedan originally made in 2007 and later converted into a ute (light pickup truck) is up for grabs in California with a low asking price of $4,500 – but caveats are part of the deal.

The owner removed the rear doors along with much of the original car’s rear end, replacing it with a surprisingly spacious cargo bed. The walls are a bit on the thick side, and there are visible panel gaps all around, but the overall craftsmanship looks decent enough.

And then there is the rear window. The builder apparently felt bad about throwing away the rear quarter windows, so they put them together at the back for an improvised rear glass. The result arguably looks worse than a single large window would and limits visibility, but it does at least win some points for originality.

The listing for the BMDoubleUte mentions that it has a salvage title, which goes a long way towards explaining the price.
