Stellantis lied about discontinuing Hemi V8, leak suggests

According to internal documents allegedly leaked from Stellantis by an insider, the company never stopped producing Hemi V8 engines in 2024 despite claims to the contrary.

The powertrain factory in Mexico kept making around 630 5.7-liter V8 units per day throughout the year. The recent announcement of the V8 returning into the Ram 1500 truck lineup puts this news story into context. Apparently, Stellantis had a return to the V8 in the plans all along.

The leak suggests that the Hemi production is set to continue in Mexico until at least July 25, 2025. If may then move to Michigan if necessary.
