Novelties
Renault has shed some more light on its urban EV called Twingo, revealing the interior with stylish splashes of color on the seats, hardware HVAC controls and unusual gadget holders for the rear seat occupants.
Starting with the front panel, it houses a 7-inch digital dash screen and a 10.1-inch infotainment display. A climate control panel resides below.
While the vast panoramic roof is simply paying due to modern trends, the seats and the side panels are a blast from the past. The cloth upholstery wears a colorful pattern that looks inspired by oceanic or space luminescence.
Magnetic holders on the headrest backs let those sitting in the back row to watch videos on their phones and tablets hands-free. The rear seats can be folded down in a 50/50 manner and moved longitudinally for an optimum balance between legroom and trunk space. The position adjustment knobs look a bit like skateboard wheels.
On the outside, the Renault Twingo EV looks virtually identical to its concept version introduced in November 2023. The automaker says the car seen here is 90% ready for production and inspired by the original Twingo model from 33 years ago.
Prices in Europe are expected to begin under €20,000.
