Rare Mercedes-Maybach G-Class traded for $0.5M in the USA

One out of 99 Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet cars made is now up for grabs online in the United States. Aside from begin exceptionally rare (see video), this particular Landaulet has the advantage of being virtually unused with 380 km (236 mi) under its belt. The above should explain the current top bid of $504,000, and we expect it to rise further in the coming days.

The word ‘Landaulet’ refers to the body type, which combines a hard fixed top above the front seats with a soft automatic droptop at the back.

The semi-convertible runs on the hardcore AMG G 63 4x4 Squared chassis with portal axles, a transfer case, three differential locks and off-road tires. The modified undercarriage ensures up to 450 mm (17.58 inches) of ground clearance and the capability to wade water up to 1 meter deep. Power comes from a six-liter V12 rated at 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque, which connects to a seven-speed A/T.

Second-row seat occupants take advantage of separate seats wrapped in deluxe leather with built-in massage and ventilation features, as well as their own multimedia system and HVAC. The wheelbase is 580 mm (22.66 inches) wider than standard to accommodate all these upgrades. The driver’s compartment is separated from the rest of the car with a see-through partition.

The Landaulet never officially went on sale in the USA, but this one was imported on the Show-or-Display basis, meaning the owner is entitled to drive it on public streets no more than 2,500 miles (slightly above 4,000 km) per year.
